Published for the 25th anniversary of the Ensemble Stanislas, this CD presents a recording make during the concert on 3 December 2007 in the Salle Poirel in Nancy. This tremendous chef-d'oeuvre, lasting nearly one hour, is formidably difficult for the interpreters. It is for this reason that the Ensemble Stanislas only decided to record it after having performed it on a number of occasions over the last twenty years, as a sequel to the Beethoven Septet produced in 2004 (see 20th anniversary boxed set).
