With this CD discover a Czechoslovakian composer who was the pupil of Vincent d'Indy at the Schola Schantorum in Paris in the 1920s. In 1926 he became organist at Notre-Dame of Valentin in Lausanne before returning to Prague in 1936 where he was appointed organist at the Cathedral of Saint-Guy, a position he kept until his death. He taught at the Prague Conservatoire from 1945.
Author of many religious-inspired works, Tichy devoted himself with talent to chamber music, intimately mingling traditional bohemian melodies with the influences of the French masters he had frequented during his time in Paris.
